DescriptionThis is a Worcester yellow-ground reticulated oval basket painted in shades of rose, purple, yellow, and green. In the center is a large floral bouquet and around the gilt-edged rim are scattered sprigs. The exterior has a pale yellow ground with fluted sides and is formed by molded open basketwork with green-centered rose florets applied at the intersections and brown and yellow twig handles at the sides that terminate in applied blossoms and leaves. There are some central glaze pits. The handles are worn. The blossoms at the terminals are chipped and one blossom is missing.ProvenanceHenry Clay Hofheimer, II
