DescriptionThis is a Worcester "Warmstry Fluted" coffee cup (A) and saucer (B). Each piece is painted in shades of rose, purple, iron-red, yellow, and green with four floral sprays alternating with four slightly tapering underglaze blue panels reserved with a roundel painted with an insect. The lower body of the cup and the center of the saucer are encircled by an underglaze blue border reserved with a white flowering vine and enclosing on the saucer a pink and green rosebud sprig. The rim of each piece has a gilt line at the edge. There are pseudo-Chinese seal marks in underglaze blue. The saucer rim has a small restored chip issuing a hair crack running around the well.
