DescriptionThis is a Worcester "Wet Blue"-ground teacup (A) and saucer (B). Each piece is painted in rose, brown, and grey and heightened in gilding with an oriental floral spray within two reserved ovals on the cup and a roundel on the saucer within a delicate gilt scalloped line issuing gilt foliate sprigs. The center of the cup has a gilt-heightened rose and brown floral sprig. The saucer has three gilt bud and leaf sprigs issuing from the gilt edge of the rim. There are W marks in underglaze blue. The cup rim is worn and hair cracked. The saucer has a curdled ground.
