DescriptionThis is a Worcester "Mignonette" pattern fluted barrel-shaped teapot (A) and cover (B). It is painted on either side (probably at a later date) with a purple, rose, iron-red, and yellow exotic bird amidst green and brown shrubbery on a grassy plateau beneath an original border of green trellis diaper panels edged with gilt C-scrolls and alternating with arlands of rose mignonettes. The cover rim is similarly bordered around the rose and green floral sprig knop. The handle and spout have later rose foliate sprigs and feathering. The body is repaired and cracked. The knop has tiny chips.
