DescriptionThis is a Worcester large fluted barrel-shaped teapot (A) and cover (B). Each piece is painted with rose-edged vertical panels of purple floral pendants alternating with swags of iron-red hops and green leaves pendent from a gilt herringbone-patterned rose border reserved with purple foliate panels. The base of the pot and the center of the cover have a gilt-scroll-edged turquoise-ground border of "pearls" interrupted on the cover by the gilt-heightened floral sprig knop. Each piece has a gilt dentil-edged rim. The pot has a hair crack issuing from a strainer hole and the knop has small chips.
