DescriptionThis is a Worcester finely fluted part tea and coffee service. Each piece is painted in Sevres style around the gilt-edged rim with double garlands and pendants of rose mignonettes suspended between two or three turquoise shagreen-ground cartouches edged with gilt rococo scrollwork. The center of the bowls, dishes, teabowls, and saucers has a mignonette cluster, some within a gilt dotted roundel. The covers have a gilt-heightened floral sprig knop. The service has thirty-two (32) pieces:
Spherical teapot and cover (tiny chips on the knop) (.1A, .1B)
Fluted hexagonal teapot stand (.2)
Sugar bowl and cover (tiny chips on the knop and a chip under the cover rim) (.3A, .3B)
Pear-shaped milk jug and cover (tiny chips on the knop and the gilding on the cover dome is worn) (.4A, .4B)
Two ovoid tea canisters and covers (each cover with chips on the rim and knop) (.5A, .5B, .6A, .6B)
Two waste bowls (some wear on the rim edges) (.7, .8)
Pair of cake dishes (one with slight chipping to the turquoise enamel at the rim; the other with some wear to the gilt edge) (.9, .10)
Eight teabowls (two with wear to the gilt rim edge) (.11-.18)
Six coffee cups (one hair cracked) (.19-.24)
