DescriptionThis is a Worcester coffee cup painted in the London workshop of James Giles in black washed in green with three figures standing on a river bank and looking toward a church and other buildings on the opposite bank. The bottom of the interior has a gilt blossom beneath a gilt-border of interlocking C-scrolls and pendants around the gilt-edged rim. There is a grooved loop handle dashed in gilding.
