DescriptionThis is a pair of Worcester blue-scale reticulated oval small baskets. Each basket is painted in shades of rose, purple, iron-red, yellow, and green. In the center is a cluster of flowers within a shaped oval panel edged with coppery gilt rococo scrollwork and reserved on a blue scale ground. The sides are painted with floral sprigs beneath a gilt-edged blue-scale border on the rim. The exterior is molded with open wickerwork with green-centered rose florets applied at the intersections. Two pale green rope-twist handles are affixed at the ends of the baskets and issue trailing stems of iron-red centered yellow blossoms and green leaves. There are W marks in underglaze blue. One basket has a hair crack through one handle. The other basket has cracks in the wickerwork at one end behind a restored blossom and leaf.
