DescriptionThis is a Worcester "Queen Charlotte" pattern spherical teapot (A) and cover (B). Each piece is painted in underglaze blue heightened in gilding with spiraling panels of rose and iron-red blossoms and leaves beneath an iron-red foliate vine borderwith gilt blossoms around the shoulder and cover rim. The cover has a teardrop knop feathered in iron-red. There is a workman's mark in underglaze blue. The pot is cracked, the spout has small chips, the cover rim is chipped, and the knop is restored in plaster.
