DescriptionThis is a pair of Worcester blue-scale fluted plates. Each is reserved with a central roundel surrounded by three "mirror"-shaped cartouches alternating with three "vase"-shaped cartouches alternating with three "vase"-shaped cartouches beneath pairs of triangular panels, all painted in a Kakiemon-type palette of iron-red, yellow, green, and turquoise with oriental flowering plants or floral sprigs. There are pseudo-Chinese seal marks in underglaze blue. There is some scratching and wear. The gilding is lacking.ProvenanceHenry Clay Hofheimer, II
