DescriptionThis is a Worcester Chinoiserie Baluster-form Small Mug. It is colorfully painted on one side with a Chinese man holding a fan and standing behind his wife and small son who points to an insect flitting above a white dog nearby, the reverse with a similar scene, each within an iron-red-edged panel reserved on a gilt scrollwork ground further reserved with small panels of black sprigs and larger panels of puce camaïeu landscapes interrupted at the back by the ribbed loop handle.ProvenanceHenry Clay Hofheimer, II
